Questions
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to give my name or contact details to see quotes?
No. The quote tool asks for gender, date of birth, general health, tobacco use, coverage amount and term length. Those six answers are all you need to see carrier rates. Your name, address and detailed health history are only collected if you decide to apply.
Are the monthly prices shown the price I will pay?
They are rates each carrier quotes for the health class you selected. The final premium is set by the carrier after underwriting, which may confirm, improve or change the class. Nothing on this site is an offer of insurance or a promise of a particular price.
What happens when I click Apply?
You continue into a secure online application run by the carriers' application platform, which will be prefilled with the answers you gave here. You can stop and resume anytime, and you sign electronically. The application is handled by Susman Insurance Agency, a licensed California insurance agency (License 0B75129).
Will I need a medical exam?
It depends on the carrier, the coverage amount and your answers. Many carriers now offer accelerated underwriting with no exam for eligible applicants; each quote on this site indicates whether an exam is required, possibly required, or not required.
Is a longer term better?
A term should cover the years when someone would be financially hurt by your death: a mortgage, children at home, a business loan. Longer terms cost more per month but lock the rate in for longer. The quote tool lets you compare 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years side by side.
Does this site sell my information?
No. The quote form doesn't ask for contact information; we never sell or share what you tell us, and measurement on our site doesn't use cookies. Check our privacy page to see the complete list of data collected and by whom.
