No-exam life insurance
Understanding fast underwriting, which applicants qualify, and what happens when standard underwriting applies.
Nowadays, fast underwriting is common: carriers assess eligible applicants using application data, prescription records, driving history and other files, skipping a paramedical visit. Some approvals happen the same day. Each quote here indicates whether an exam is required, optional, or unnecessary for that specific plan.
What it changes
No exam doesn't mean no review. Your answers are fact-checked, and a policy issued based on false information can be challenged within the first 24 months. The carrier may request an exam or lab results if its records turn up something uncertain; you then choose whether to proceed.
Who tends to qualify
Candidates under about 60, applying for sums up to each carrier's limit for fast underwriting, with no significant health issues and no tobacco or nicotine use in the past year. Some insurers will accept recent lab work from a doctor's visit in place of their own exam.
A paramedical examiner typically comes to your Perris-area home or workplace for 20 to 30 minutes, at no charge to you. When healthy applicants get exams, the results often lead to a better rate class, so exams aren't always a drawback.
